Artemis Fowl "The Arctic Incident" Is a little more fast pace. Artemis and his bodyguard are on a mission! But first they have to join forces with some old would be enemies to save the underworld. Things get a little sticky in the second book Artemis is now 13 yrs old and in the process of learning a very valuable lesson both about himself and others. To do so will mean getting more involved as well as dirty in the literal since. Things take a turn but not necessarily for the good, he has to risk more and become more dependent on himself in order to change the out come of the events at hand.
The second book is really fast pace and contains a lot of action. It only took me a day to get though this second book because it was just that interesting. Because of that I have changed my mind about Artemis Fowl being a very good second to Harry Potter Although Harry Potter is still my favorite above all others; Artemis is defiantly in a class all of its own and holds 1st place in its category I would very much like to read more by this author as well as J.K. Rowling. They are both unique and superior writers. However, I do believe that Artemis Fowl and Harry Potter are at their writer’s personal best both of these books will be hard to beat by either writer.
